Completely free for all children and families, the extraordinary collection of short stories, poems, essays and pictures has contributions from more than 110 children’s writers and illustrators, including Lauren Child, Anthony Horowitz, Greg James and Chris Smith, Michael Morpurgo, Liz Pichon, Axel Scheffler, Francesca Simon and Jacqueline Wilson. The collection is dedicated to all key workers. See link below.
Today nearly 200 pupils logged in for the LIVE reading event. Natalie Pritchard read her book, sang songs, taught a dance and answered questions about being an author in a fun packed exclusive show for Engayne pupils promoting kindness. Thank you Mrs Brown for organising. If you missed the event click here to see the story.
ACTS OF KINDNESS
Andrew in Y4 has been nominated for a BIG thank you from his neighbours for mowing the shared grass area (all by himself) in his close so each family can use it safely for some outside time!
The under 9’s at Upminster rugby club are raising money for GOSH. On Saturday they started to attempt to cover the 874 miles from lands end to John O’Groats, they can do this by running, scooting, walking or cycling. The original aim was to do this in 10 days but they are on course to beat this, as they have done 385 miles so far and raised over £2000.
Engayne pupils in this fundraiser are Max S, Ollie G, Jake P, Albert B, Robert A and Piers O.
We have all been enjoying seeing all the rainbows in windows as we go on our daily walks. In school we have created some too and they are now proudly displayed on the gates and fences. If you are passing you should see them … and know we are all thinking of you! We have some pictures of what we have been up to in school too!
We have had some great pictures sent in of you all working hard at home! Keep them coming. Please let us know it is OK to pop them on the webpage to share with your friends!
All your teachers are missing you. They are working hard planning and thinking of activities for you to do. In between all the hard work they are also making rainbows and doing activities with their families.
Year Four had great fun learning and creating games in Games and Puzzles week. As well as traditional card and board games and children learned some traditional playground games!
It is World Book Week at Engayne! All the classes are exploring books, reading and writing to complete different tasks during the week. Year Four was asked to visit Year Two and share books. Looks like they had a fantastic time!
